The Klinikverbund Hessen (Hessen clinic association) is a network of 29 publicly owned and operated acute care clinics at 32 locations in Hessen. The clinics provide medical and nursing care for about a third of all stationary patients in Hessen and form the backbone of hospital care. More than 430,000 stationary and over 800,000 ambulant patients rely on high-quality medical, nursing and service care.
We function as partners together with local doctors and all our service providers in stationary and ambulant care. We provide medical students with professional training and we promote continued in-service medical training in the various specialities via our network structure – all these are particularly important aspects of our work. Through projects with universities and institutes, such as the joint formation of a reference institute for medical and hospital technology at University of Applied Sciences Gießen, we provide competent practical tertiary medical training and knowledge transfer between clinics and universities.
