ACO Guss GmbH/ACO Eurobar GmbH – From a traditional foundry to a modern component manufacturing plant in Kaiserslautern

ACO Guss GmbH is one of Europe’s leading foundries. In our plant in Kaiserslautern, Germany, around 300 qualified employees produce up to 75,000 tons of cast iron per year. Thanks to wire-feed technology, ACO Guss can also manufacture special materials such as vermicular iron, high silicon cast iron and austempered ductile iron in addition to the classical material grades of grey cast iron and ductile iron.

The foundry’s success is based on three key competencies: construction casting, machine-moulded casting and continuous casting. The ACO Eurobar® high-quality continuous cast iron developed together with the hydraulics industry conforming to EN 16482 is sold by ACO Eurobar GmbH, a subsidiary of ACO Guss. Six ACO sales companies now market the cast iron products from Scandinavia to South Africa.

A peek behind the scenes reveals that this manufacturing site has nothing in common with the noise and grime of the past. Today, ACO Guss is an environmentally friendly high-tech foundry, which produces sophisticated cast iron components. The company invested a great deal in this over the last few years and equipped the plant with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.
