The Wirtschafts- und Infrastrukturbank Hessen (WIBank) is the ultimate monetary assistance institute in the state. It supports the economic and structural development of Hessen, thereby contributing to the state’s future viability. WIBank defines itself as an instrument and partner of the state government. In this way, it meets the challenges of social and economic transformation and actively supports the authorities in coping with them.
As a promotional institute in the spirit of the Brussels Agreement II, WIBank’s catalogue of tasks is regulated by law, specifically in paragraph 2 of the Wirtschafts- und Infrastrukturbank Hessen-Gesetz. Its activities take place in the fields of economic, housing, infrastructure, labour market and regional promotion. Moreover, WIBank carries out promotion consulting, where it plays a pilot role in locating suitable funding programmes. WIBank is the point of contact for individuals, companies, municipalities, districts, the state, the EU and other banks. WIBank’s funding products comprise start-up and expansion financing loans, various forms of surety and participation as well as reduced-interest-rate loans from roll-over funds such as the Hessian investment fund or rental-housing construction fund.
