Many years of experience is the best preparation for the future
With nearly 61,000 apartments, regional and service centres, offices in Hesse and Thuringia and about 600 employees, the Nassauische Heimstätte/ Wohnstadt group is one of the largest housing associations in Germany. Our socio-economic mission is to provide a broad section of the population with affordable housing.
Looking towards the future, comprehensive maintenance and new construction projects are planned over the next few years. By 2019, the group of companies will have invested around one billion euros in the construction of new housing in the Rhine-Main region. Over 50 per cent of these funds will primarily go on the subsidised construction of rental housing for our own capital assets. About 3,500 apartments will be built over the next seven years, mostly on sites in Frankfurt am Main, Darmstadt and Wiesbaden. For the period up to and including 2019, almost 650 million euros are also earmarked for maintaining and modernising the apartment portfolio we already manage across the country. While maintenance expenditure remains constant at 53 million euros annually, spending on modernisation, especially for energy-related qualification, will increase to 40 million euros per year.
