The Logistik-Kompetenz-Zentrum (LKZ) is an innovation centre for customer-oriented logistics solutions which are developed in close cooperation between business and science.
LKZ experts acquire and design projects from the initial idea through to implementation. After conducting an extensive process analysis, we bring all the respective shareholders together and collaborate on devising practice-orientated solutions. This way, we are able to secure the workplaces and sites for the customers as well as those in the LKZ network.
The centre comprises 15 companies and around 60 employees, and is complemented by a competent network of external logistics partners. Since its inception, Frauenhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (Fraunhofer IML) has provided scientific support. The intensive collaboration with the universities of Rosenheim, Munich, Ingolstadt and Bayreuth tops off the scientific competence, which is supplemented by a very successful cooperation with Bayern Innovativ. The centre is situated in an ideal location in Prien am Chiemsee, which is characterised by its central and scenic location.
LKZ guarantees neutrality and stability thanks to its public-service shareholders (the district of Rosenheim, the community of Prien, Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Munich and Upper Bavaria).
