The cantonal hospital Liestal, founded in 1962, is a central hospital that fulfils an extended primary-care mission for the northern and central part of the canton with emphasis on the Basel-Landschaft canton. Every year, more than 15,000 patients are treated in 399 nursing beds, 321 of which are for acute care. In addition, 80,000 outpatient medical treatments are performed by clinical specialists.
A staff of more than 1,600 employees works round the clock for the patients’ well-being. The hospital participates in the lectureship of the university of Basel. As the first hospital in the Basel-Landschaft canton, the cantonal hospital Liestal draws on tradition and experience. Continuous innovations in all areas are the ideal basis for providing all patients and visitors with top quality and comfort.
