In 1989, Jens Schneider, an employee at WEE, Werkstatt für Elektrotechnik/Elektronik Dietrich Kroll in Schirmenitz (Saxony), set up a production line with final metrological checks for new passive 300 MHz components and acquired the exclusive right to set up professional GGA 300 antenna head locations over the entire former German Democratic Republic. Shortly thereafter, WEE began installing and operating its own cable television systems. In 1991, the company’s range of products was expanded to include entire services for installing and maintaining cable telecommunication systems using copper and glass fibre technology. In 1992 KROLL-Fernmeldebau GmbH – now Schneider GmbH – was formed. Due to the rapid parallel development of its core business of building telecommunications systems and in BK network technology, I. Schneider e.K. was formed in 1995, taking over the entire field of antenna and broadband cable technologies from Schneider GmbH.
Today I. Schneider e.K. installs and maintains multi-media infrastructures of a wide range of regional and Germany-wide network operators for about 10,000 dwelling units, from reception and processing components to troubleshooting service in network levels 3 and 4. As a network operator, it also offers a further 6,500 dwelling units telephony and high-speed internet in its own systems together with ordinary radio and television.
