Hepa Wash is a medical technology company that has developed a novel liver support therapy for patients suffering from life threatening liver failure.
If the liver’s detoxification capability is impaired, a severe progression of the disease with multiple organ failure may occur. To combat the situation, the Hepa Wash® procedure offers a reliable and effective form of treatment. Integrated into one system, both liver and kidney toxins can be removed from the patient’s blood and the pulmonary function can be supported.
Hepa Wash GmbH was founded in Munich in 2005 as a one-man start-up. The purpose of its inception was to independently develop and realize an effective liver support therapy beginning with the concept up to the end-user marketability. Today, the company employs a highly diversified team consisting of more than 25 employees, who cover all relevant sectors needed to commercialize the procedure – from research & development, through regulatory affairs and production to service and application consulting.
The Hepa Wash® therapy was granted approval for the European market in 2013. The company is working in cooperation with leading universities and university hospitals in Bavaria to continuously promote the research and development of additional therapeutic options.
