HEAG Südhessische Energie AG: HSE – the sustainability group

HSE is the largest independent service provider for energy, water and waste disposal in Southern Hessen and belongs to the eight leading regional suppliers in Germany. The group is operating the entire value chain of the industry: energy generation and production, energy distribution and procurement, operation of supply networks as well as large-scale facilities, disposal of sewage and waste, energy data management and telecommunications. With its over 2,500 employees and 140 apprentices, the HSE is owned in the majority by the municipality. Of more than 3.7 billion euros annual turnover per year, approximately 450 million euros stay in the region’s economic cycle.

As a precursor, HSE wants to contribute to shaping the energy supply sustainably and in a climate-neutral way. For this the group is going to invest one billion euros in the expansion of sustainable energies by 2015. HSE is relying on the triad: avoid, reduce and compensate CO2. The company’s subsidiary ENTEGA is one of the pioneering green energy suppliers in Germany and offers sustainable energy nationwide. HSE wants to facilitate people with a high quality of life, which is not carried out at the expense of the environment, and acts responsibly – with a holistic view: In short: HSE. Seeing the big picture.
