Since early 2005 the state-owned company HA Hessen Agentur GmbH has combined its non-monetary business promotion work in Hessen. Its central task is to market Hessen within Germany and abroad as a place to do business and thereby strengthen its position in international competition. The tightly knit areas of location development, location marketing, tourism, technology, innovation, education, international affairs and Europe combine all promotional instruments in a single organisation. The consolidation of competencies in the HA Hessen Agentur GmbH is exemplary in Europe.
The Hessen Agentur makes contacts with research and development. It helps creative ideas become commercial success. It helps potential investors look for suitable locations, provides them with full advice and other assistance. The state government and other regional authorities also use the Hessen Agentur’s know-how. With its comprehensive knowledge of economic, regional and urban development, it provides practical concepts for decisions and development projects to do with structural policy. As a think-tank, it identifies and assesses future technology and provides incentive for the formation of networks and clusters.
