Without compressed air or vacuum systems, no modern hospital or printer could function; food packaging and semi-conductor production would come to a standstill. Many modern industrial processes are possible through vacuum. Suction and blast air is used to ensure precise and fast material handling. The machine manufacturer Gebr. Becker turns air into performance. This is achieved through practically applied creativity, which provides Becker products with an extensive spectrum of utilization ranging from “power actions” to highly precise material handling processes, from wine presses, contact lens manufacturing and chip production to circuit board assembly under clean-room conditions. Two of the classic Becker industries are printing and packaging. This is where Becker pumps and systems facilitate magnificent multi-colour prints through precise positioning of the print sheet. With chocolate sorting machines it regulates lifting, control, and accurate positioning of the sweets. Also, logistics, medical, and environmental technology frequently work with Becker products. Vacuum and compressed air lift paper rolls of up to 25 tons, weld together steel plates for ships rapidly and precisely with mobile laser plants, package flour exactly to the gram, or ensure that there is clean air around the sewage plant by supplying oxygen. Vacuum-controlled money counting machines guarantee the correct amount. Numerous pioneering advances in vacuum and compressed air technology, like the dry running pump, came from Becker. In this tradition Becker with its partners continues to develop its program dynamically: from pure pump mechanics to electronics. This goes for the entire product range of pressure and vacuum machines. They are designed as dry running or oil-lubricated rotary vane, as radial and side channel compressors, or as directly driven “screw”. The service range comprises volume flows of 1.5 m3/h for rotary vane pumps, up to 3,000 m3/h for radial blowers and operating pressures from 0.5 mbar absolute to 3 bar above atmospheric pressure. However, the future belongs to the system solutions: electronically controlled air delivery cabinets and central plants – all to provide optimal performance. At Becker, quality is certified and first priority: through 100 per cent test run commissioning and 1,000 hour endurance tests. Climate simulation ensures that Beckers pumps function reliably in the Tundra like in the jungle. Becker is continuing to expand. The headquarters were expanded and modernized, and process-oriented island production was introduced. In addition, a highly modern plant in Apolda/Thuringia was created. Now 700 employees are working in more than 100 countries for Becker and its 13 subsidiaries. Becker services customer requirements quickly and reliably.
