The film business location Bavaria is booming: over the past few years, around 2,500 companies from the motion picture industry generated one-third of the German turnover in this sector in the Munich Metropolitan Region alone. Bavaria is very popular as a film location for national and international productions and offers a technically well equipped production and service sector, which also stands its ground internationally. The FilmFernsehFonds Bayern makes significant contributions to guarantee high-quality and high-quantity funding of films and games at one of Germany’s leading media locations. With a funding volume of about 30 million euros per year, the FFF Bayern strengthens an established film and a growing game industry and facilitates a considerable value creation for the Bavarian economy. The funding areas include: movie and TV film production; support for screenplays, project development, up-and-coming film makers, distribution and sales as well as funding of film theatres and games. In addition, the Bavarian Bank Fund sponsors the production and distribution of funded cinema films. The Film Commission Bavaria supports national and international productions during filming with professional know-how and extensive service measures.
