Evangelisches Diakoniewerk Zoar – Making things happen together, participation in professional life
As an institution for vocational training, the Zoar workshops have the social mandate to develop and support the professional abilities and skills of people with a particular need for support. This aims to make it possible for them to participate in professional life. After completing in-house vocational training, many of them take advantage of job offers within the workshops.
To make the transfer to the general labour market easier, the Zoar workshops in Heidesheim, for example, developed inclusive certification courses with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Rhine-Hesse in Mainz. A key element of the certification courses is practice-orientated qualification with contents tailored to the specific demands and work processes of the respective business. The curriculum designed for this specific target group includes alternating between learning phases, traineeships in partner businesses of the labour market and consultation phases. The curriculum creates positive perspectives for participants to enter into new educational processes and is completed with a Chamber of Industry and Commerce degree that is acknowledged nationwide.
The following certification courses are offered: specialist for warehouse organisation, specialised social services worker and specialized building maintenance worker.
