For the last 35 years, the family-owned South Tyrolean company has been committed to helping people with special nutritional needs. This market leader in gluten-free food products counts on solid experience. Along with its own research and development centre and a professional network team, it develops and creates special dietary food products. Dr. Schär focuses its business activities on two main areas: gluten-free and amino acids. The focal point of these activities are high-quality goods and a responsibility towards consumers. The “Schär” brand offers a very wide range of gluten-free foods, allowing customers to choose from 400 products, ranging from bread, pasta and biscuits to flour, frozen meals and snacks. Already a well-known brand in Germany, in 2006 the company established two production plants in Dreihausen (Hessen) and in the bell-casting town of Apolda (Thuringia), currently employing over 100 people.
“The production of high quality gluten-free bread and bread substitutes in Apolda is essential in order to satisfy this growing demand. As we feel a close connection to the region, it is our intention to continue relying on Apolda in the coming future,” says executive board member Richard Stampfl.
