With 7.4 million customers, the Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall is Germany’s largest building society and a major economic factor in northeastern Baden-Württemberg. Since the German currency reform of 1948, the market leader has helped finance nine million homes, home conversions and modernisations worth over 332 billion euros, thereby helping its customers find happy homes.
As a building society and service provider for the private residential financing sector of the almost 1,000 cooperative banks in Germany, the Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall has been firmly based in the cooperative banking sector since it was formed in 1931. Together, the cooperative bank employees and Schwäbisch Hall’s 7,000 or so office-based staff and field representatives guarantee professional customer service concerning building, buying and financing homes throughout Germany.
But the Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall has taken the name of its original home region to many other countries around the world for over 25 years as well. Its branches with the logo of the four building blocks can be seen in France, Luxembourg, the Slovak Republic, the Czech Republic, Hungary and China. German home financing has become a successful export “hit” and today, the name “Schwäbisch Hall” is also known in China.
