Amway GmbH: 50 years of successful direct selling

In 2009, Amway celebrated its 50th an­­niversary as one of the world’s leading direct selling companies. The company’s European headquarters, em­­ploy­­ing 260 people, is in Puchheim near Munich. The Amway portfolio comprises some 450 cos­­­­metics, wellness and household prod­­ucts, which are sold by 85,000 inde­­­­pen­­dent Amway sales representatives through­­­­­­out Germany. Amway brands in­­clude, among others, the NUTRILITE™ food supplements, the ARTISTRY™ and beautycycle™ cosmetics series and the L.O.C.™ range of house­­hold cleaning products.
In-house research institutes guarantee the highest product quality. In addition, the company operates its own travel agency, Amway Travel.
As one of the top ten direct selling com­­pa­­nies in Germany, Amway strives to pro­­fes­sion­­alize the industry. To achieve this, Am­­way, for instance, initiated a cer­­tifi­cate training course in cooperation with the education center of the chamber of in­­dus­­try and commerce Dresden, which is now being offered throughout Germany.
Corporate Citizenship is an integral part of the company strategy. Since 2003, more than 70 million US dollars have been raised for children through Amway’s glo­­bal ONE by ONE™ Campaign for children. Amway em­­ploy­­ees and Independent Amway Busi­­ness Owners have been sup­­­­porting the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) through numerous projects since 2001.
