The steel industry’s search for an acid-resistant material for their plants at the end of the 1950s marked the moment of glory for Murtfeldt, a Dortmund-based trading company which had until then only been active in procurement and sales. It created a green plastic material marketed under “Original Material “S”® green®”, which quickly became a desired brand. “S green has since become synonymous with excellent sliding properties, high wear resistance and a long lifetime,” says Detlev Höhner, Managing Director of Murtfeldt Kunststoffe GmbH & Co. KG.
Today, Murtfeldt products are used whenever goods are packed, bottled and transported. The Dortmund-based company is a world leader of customised machine components, slide profiles, chain and belt guides as well as chain tensioners made of slide-enhancing, abrasion-resistant plastics. The basis for the production is the semi-finished parts inventory of technical synthetic materials and high-performance plastics.
Murtfeldt possesses a comprehensive production, sales and service network comprised of almost 300 employees in Dortmund and subsidiaries in the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, a field staff that advises customers wherever they may be, as well as additional partners in almost all European countries.
